The Blazers went to Free State High School for the 14 team Sunflower League Tournament Feb. 8-9.  The team took fifth overall just 1.5 points from fourth.
Collin Smith was a league runner up after winning easily the biggest match of the year, knocking off a highly ranked opponent from Lawrence High that was previously unbeaten against 6A opponents this season.  This was also a bit of revenge for Collin after losing to the same opponent in his first ever high school match.
Brayden Ratcliffe wrestled in a tough weight and came away with fourth.
AJ Rodriguez got some redemption as well winning a league championship at #152 in overtime against an opponent that had beaten him earlier in the season 10-4.
Caden Rodriguez took 3rd with his only loss coming in a tight match to the #3 ranked wrestler in the state.  Caden was the only wrestler that was not pinned by the highly ranked wrestler all day and lost 6-2.
Shawn Waters finished as a runner up as well after getting the win that had the whole tournament buzzing.  In his semi-final match Shawn pinned the #3 ranked heavyweight in the state to make the finals, where he ultimately lost to another top ranked wrestler from Lawrence.
