Showing marked improvement, the Blazer varsity soccer squad dropped a 6-1 EKL decision to highly ranked Blue Valley Northwest last week.
At half time GEHS trailed just 2-1 after playing an equalized game of 1-1 on the pitch.
The Blazers lone goal came from junior Brooke Boyer off an assist by Rylee Ebert.
Back came Northwest with five straight second half goals to post a 6-1 decision.
“I’m very proud of our young varsity team as they are learning to generate some offense against some of the best soccer squads in Kansas,” said Coach Walt Cochran.
It was the same story for the Blazers c-team and JV teams as both lost to Northwest by scores of 10-0.
