Scoring 28, second half points, the Spring Hill High School Bronco football team turned back Sumner Academy, 42-20, last Friday in second round 4A district action.
Spring Hill, 2-6, took a 14-13 halftime lead thanks to touchdown runs of 16 and 27 yards by Tyshaun Straw.
In the second half, the Broncos turned up the heat. William Lovetinsky tacked on 58 offensive yards to start off second half scoring. RayQuon Stowers scored on three and 25 yard hauls, and Trey Cygan also tacked on points in the second half.
Straw led the offensive attack rushing for 196 yards on 17 carries and two touchdowns. Lovetinsky added 83 yards on four totes and one touchdown. Stowers had 56 yards on 15 carries and two touchdowns. Roiel Swift caught one pass for 29 yards. Nathan Ewing had a catch for 14 yards and Cygan one catch for 5 yards.
Through the air, Jacob Letellier connected on three of six passes for 48 yards.
Spring Hill, 2-6, plays Louisburg High School on Friday night. Louisburg is also 2-6 on the season.
