A late rally fell just short and the Blazer JV football team dropped a close 12-10 home decision to Blue Valley Southwest last week.
The Blazer defense recorded a safety in the closing seconds of regulation, but couldn’t pull even and lost the two point EKL contest.
Actually, the Blazers held an 8-6 first half lead thanks to a touchdown pass from quarterback Brody Marshall to Leon Gaeta.
But Southwest regrouped at halftime, capitalized on a costly Blazer turnover and held on for victory.
Despite the loss, top defensive efforts came from Koby Money and Jensen McDermott.
Offensively, Marshall led the way with another consistent performance at quarterback. His favorite targets were Ty Bradford and Jacob Groefsema.
