Megan Bonar’s last-second shot lifted the Lady Jag eighth-grade girls varsity basketball team to a 29-27 win at Ottawa, Nov. 4.
Tied 6-6 after one quarter, the Jags went up 12-11 at halftime. A 9-3 third-quarter run gave PRMS a 21-14 lead. Ottawa rallied and held a two-point lead late in the fourth quarter before the Jag comeback.
“We played well in the third quarter,” Coach Jeff Davidson said. “Our defense was active and we converted steals into points.”
Bonar led the way with 17 points and 18 rebounds. Marissa Gray added four points and four rebounds and Taylor Rayburn scored three points.
The team continued its season Nov. 9 at “Fill the Fieldhouse” day at GEHS. Results were not available at press time.
