Gardner Edgerton High School junior Kyle Huppe and senior Tanner Webb recently earned state  6A honorable mention basketball honors.
Webb and Huppe both averaged over 13 points per game and led GEHS to a 12-8 overall record and third place in the East Kansas League. The team also took second in the Spring Hill tourney.
“I’m excited we had some kids recognized around the state,” said Coach Jeff Langrehr. “Together the two combined to provide offensive punch for our team from the perimeter. Stretching the floor with two excellent perimeter shooters provided opportunities for us inside. Tanner captured most of the early season attention based on his shooting of a year ago. Kyle established himself as a threat and that eased the load for Tanner and others.”
Langrehr also noted top contributions from seniors Zach Hickman and C.J. Hall. Trae Wrench led the team in assists.
