Goldie Marie (King) Piño, 75, of Edgerton, Kan. left our world in peace on May 12, 2012 at her home.
Goldie was born on June 29, 1936 to James Mac Henry and Goldie Marie (Hawk) King in Armourdale, Kan. She grew up in the Kenny Heights neighborhood of Kansas City, Kan. later moving to Dallas, Texas where she worked as a butcher. It was here that she met Jose “Ice” Piño whom she married on Nov. 25, 1968 in Dallas. While living in McKinney, Texas she managed a dry cleaners and was a shampoo technician. In 1992 they moved to Edgerton, Kan. to be near family.
Goldie enjoyed Bingo, talking on the phone to her family and doing crossword puzzles. She loved spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Jose “Ice” in 1993, brothers James Delmar King and Harold Oliver King and two sisters Francis Alberta McCollum and Sara Elizabeth Werren.
Goldie is survived by her children Harold Edward Grant of Shreveport, La., Goldie Marie (Grant) Wohlgemuth of Overland Park, Kan., Cynthia Ada (Grant) Morgan of Irving, Texas, Janet Leigh (Grant) Dorries of Ft. Worth, Texas, Sara Elizabeth (Grant) Raquapaw Maganna of Hemet, Calif., Richard Hugh Grant, Jr of Corsicana, Texas, Crystal Avonne (Piño) Thompson of Kenova, W.V. and Josette Isabel Piño of Edgerton, Kan.; brother Wilbur Lewis King of Kansas City, Kan.; 22 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 2 p.m.,May 15, 2012 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS, (913) 856-7111. Burial will follow at Edgerton Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. before the service.
