140 schools at Rim Rock this past weekend and our Gardner Edgerton High School Blazers seized the opportunity provided by great competition and near perfect cross country race conditions to set 25 new PR’s on a very challenging course. Our top finisher in the Boys JV was Jordan Kilonzo in 37th place, with a time of 18:12, moving him back on the varsity squad next week. Mallory Boden was our best finsh in girls varsity, breaking the 21 minute barrier. Jade Haney, sister Joy, Alyssa Farrens and Jillian Velasquez were our other scorers giving the team a 31st place finish, up from last year’s 34th.
The boys varsity scorers were Trent Cochran, Rodolfo Berrum, Wrenner Brown, AJ Bohon, and Mitch Lumley. They finished in 27th place this year up from 40th last year, and had a team average of 17:13, the 2nd best in school history on the Rim Rock course. The GE State Champion team from 2003 averaged 17:10.
