Gardner Edgerton High School students will select a Homecoming King and Queen this week as part of the annual Homecoming Week. The theme is “Under the Sea.”
Throughout the week, students will compete in several spirit-building activities. The annual Powder Puff football game will be at 7 p.m. on Oct. 7 at the district athletic complex. In addition to the football game, a boys’ dance team and boys’ cheer squad will perform.
An all-school pep assembly is set for 2:30 p.m. on Oct. 9 in the high school gymnasium. King and queen candidates will be honored during the assembly. King candidates include Gage Bacon, Jarid Doerr, Ethan Eccles, Jacob Oswald and Justin Oswald. Queen candidates include Sara Coble, Jenna Goetzmann, Lyric Henderson, Amanda Krehbiel and Abbie Lane
Royalty will be crowned during halftime of the football game. Play between GEHS, now 1-4, and Blue Valley North High School kicks off at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9 at GEHS.
The week will be capped off with the annual homecoming dance on Oct. 10.
