Seven day rain totals for Southwest Johnson County was more than 8 inches, according to stormwatch.com.
Despite the heavy rains, Southwest Johnson County CERT said they did not respond to any calls. And Mary Bush, public information officer for Fire District #1 said no calls had been received due to high water as of Oct. 8.
Edgerton, which suffered about $1.7 million in heavy flooding damage in August 2017, also escaped any major problems. Don Roberts, mayor, said the difference may be because the rainfall was spread over a longer length of time.
There were no major problems reported to the Gardner Police Department.
“Nothing noteworthy,” said Sgt. Steve Benz, GPD public information officer. “ We had high water in numerous areas, but nothing that stopped traffic or caused accidents or incidents.”
