The city of Gardner has enlisted a group of prominent business leaders to serve on its “Growth by Choice or Chance” Economic Development Symposium panel scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11 at Gardner Edgerton High School, 425 N. Waverly Road.
A group of five panelists will offer their expertise and share their successes in economic development – from defining what economic development looks like to debunking the myths surrounding it. The panel members include:
• Bob Marcusse– President/CEO, Kansas City Area Development Council
• Bruce Kimmel – Vice President/Senior Financial Advisor, Ehlers
• Dorothea K. Riley – Attorney/Bond Counsel, Kutak Rock
• Owen Buckley– President, Lane4 Property Group
• Joe Reardon – Former Mayor/CEO, Unified Government of Wyandotte County
“This is an excellent opportunity for Gardner citizens to truly gain an understanding of what economic development encompasses and how economic development advances cities, similar to Gardner, to economic betterment,” Cheryl Harrison-Lee, city administrator, said. “We encourage citizens to attend and gather information from the dialogue that will occur between the panel and the governing body.”
