A two point conversion run with under a minute left in the fourth quarter by Louisburg went awry and Spring Hill escaped with a 28-27 home win in a battle of Frontier league powers last Friday night.
Nate Ewing made the key tackle on the one yard line with 1;19 left in regulation to preserve the win.
Spring Hill struck first on a four yard touchdown run by Jacob Letellier.
Louisburg answered 14 second quarter points before Jacob Letellier found Tyshaun Straw on a 36 yard scoring strike. The PAT was good and both teams went to halftime tied 14-14.
Third quarter action saw Letellier score on a 20 yard touchdown run. Louisburg tied the game 21-21 on a 36 yard scoring strike.
Lettellier scored on a one yard run in the fourth quarter and set the stage for the late defensive heroics.
Louisburg pulled within 28-27 with a six yard run but failed on the pivotal conversion attempt.
Letellier led the way with 117 rushing yards and 152 yards through the air. Straw had 75 yards on 29 totes.
