The Blazers held off a late Rossville run and brought back a third place finish from the Holton wrestling classic last weekend.
Holding off the late Rossville run were seniors Dustin Carstens and Andrew Sprague.
At 182 pounds, Carstens (18-5), and currently ranked fourth in 6A took on number one ranked in 3A and all classes Isaac Lullen of Rossville. Carstens battled but lost a tough 16-10 decision to finish second.
Enter Sprague, at 220 pounds, and ranked fifth in 6A. Andrew earned a tough 4-3 win in overtime to put GEHS in third for good.
Also providing key points was Drake Taysom. He took second at 106 pounds.
The Blazers take their undefeated duel record on the road at Olathe Northwest, Jan. 27.
On Jan. 30, GEHS will wrestle on two varsity fronts, one at Shawnee Mission North and the other at Atchison.
