Drake Taysom’s first-place finish helped the Gardner Edgerton High School Blazer boys varsity cross country team at the Turner Invitational Championship last week.
The varsity and JV boys team took first. The varsity girls took third.
Besides Taysom, other medalists included seniors Raymond Carey and Tim Ward, and freshmen Carson Hughes and Alex Crim.
The girls varsity took third with medalists Sierra Coen, Marit Holst, and Miranda Tenove. Freshmen included Larissa Weidler, the highest finisher, in seventh place.
On the JV side, Makenna Steep took second place; Andrew Boline took fourth; Josh Sola earned sixth, and Taylor Chambers finished in eighth place.
