USD 232 recognized Dr. James Sutton in person at the July 25 board meeting and thanked him for his service as the interim superintendent during their search for a permanent superintendent after former superintendent Dr. Pam Stranahan’s departure.
Ben Boothe, director of community relations, said Dr. James Sutton didn’t need much of an introduction and thanked him for his efforts and selfless contributions put forth towards the district.
“His experience is invaluable,”he said. “He very much steadied the ship. We couldn’t have asked for a much better bridge.”
Dr. Sutton said the June meeting wasn’t the way to say goodbye. He spoke to the board in June through Zoom while recovering from Covid.
“I appreciate the opportunity-appreciate the time here with staff and community,”he said. “It was the opportunity of a lifetime. It meant a great deal to me. The resiliency is the caliber of this district.”
Dr. Sutton said he believes the district will do great things and looks forward to watching USD 231’s future from afar.
