Coach Amy Stubblefield
The Lady Blazers competed in their final regular season game last week at Olathe Northwest.  It was an exciting game, start to finish.
We were down 25-31 at half time due to silly mistakes that were all self inflicted, said Amy Stubblefield, coach.  The second half was truly Blazer basketball.  Much more fight, urgency and competitiveness.  We were tied at 39-39 going into the fourth.  We quickly found ourselves down until two minutes left in the game.  Lauren Havlik hit a big three pointer to give us a two point lead.  We held on to the lead from that point on.   The final score was 53-50.
I was really proud of Lauren in this game, Stubblefield said.  She stepped up in the second half and gave us some really big minutes by doing all of the little things we ask our kids to do.  She was the spark we needed to take the lead and not look back.  Abri Leiker also maximized her time.  She had seven points and seven rebounds.
Sofia Semon had 22 points and seven rebounds.  Brenley Cunningham added seven points.  Kiersten Markos had eight rebounds.
We ended our regular season with a 9-11 record, Stubblefield said.  This placed us as a #3 seed in our sub state bracket.
