As part of the Olathe’s ongoing commitment to listening to resident priorities and improving traffic flow, a new continuous flow intersection—the first of its kind in Kansas and the Kansas City area—will be constructed at Lone Elm Road and Old 56 Highway to more efficiently move traffic in this busy, growing area.
Old 56 Highway will close to through traffic at Lone Elm Road beginning in March 2021 for approximately 90 days. Lone Elm Road north and southbound traffic flow will remain available through the Old 56 Highway intersection, but all turning movements at the intersection will be closed during construction.
Information on the project’s detours and how a continuous flow intersection works is available online at OlatheKS.org/LoneE
