The City of Gardner has named Amy Nasta as its new deputy city administrator. Nasta joined the city in 2017 as its city clerk and was promoted to senior management analyst in 2019. Her annual salary will be $102,000.
In her new role, Nasta will assist the city administrator on high-level special projects and initiatives and oversee human resources, information technology, and building maintenance functions. She will also provide support and guidance to department directors per the direction of the city administrator.
“Amy has been a tremendous asset to the organization since she began nearly four years ago,” said Jim Pruetting, city administrator. “She has an impeccable work ethic and is an exceptional talent in the areas of problem-solving, research and analysis, leadership, and project management, which made her the perfect fit for this position. Amy will bring great value to the city in her new role overseeing projects and self-performing many of the internal plans and studies that have been outsourced in the past.”
Prior to joining the City of Gardner, Nasta served four years as city clerk for the City of Eolia, Mo. She also worked one year for the Kansas City Zoo as a facility manager responsible for budgeting, scheduling, hiring, and managing staff. Nasta also spent five years at the Walt Disney Company working in various leadership capacities, including park operations manager and resort operations manager. There she served in a supervisory role, specializing in employee relations in the areas of communication, scheduling and labor, and training.
Nasta graduated summa cum laude from Columbia College with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. She also earned a master’s degree in industrial/organizational psychology from Northcentral University. Nasta is a member of the Project Management Institute.
