Contracts and Work Agreements updated
With the USD 231 Board of Education’s December ratification of the new negotiated agreement and approval of raises, all returning staff were in need of updated contracts or work agreements for this school year.
The process is conducted through a secure and electronic paperless platform. The project was broken down by employee group. The teacher contracts (509), supplemental contracts (365 coaches/sponsors) and administrative/technology contracts (42) were sent out prior to winter break, and the vast majority have already been signed/returned. The 376 classified employee work agreements will soon begin to go out, which should allow the district to conclude processing approximately 1,300 documents by Jan. 31.

District works with commercial insurance renewal
The business office is working with Holmes Murphy on the commercial insurance renewal for the 2021-22 policy period.
The current insurance company is visiting Trail Ridge Middle School and Pioneer Ridge Middle School for loss control inspections. Additionally, the application for cyber liability is expanded for this policy period. Ongoing efforts to update this information should be completed within the next couple weeks. Overall, the renewal landscape continues to be a challenge each year with upward pressure on premiums. Holmes Murphy will continue to ensure that insurance policy coverages are adequate and fairly priced before requesting school board approval.

Nutrition Services integrates new software
The nutrition services department staff have been working on integration of Mosaic, a new food service accounting software, to coincide with the district-wide implementation of Power School. This new software is the preferred partner of Power School and will allow parents to utilize a single sign-on to view and manage their student’s meal account. This cloud-based system allows for a reduction in the amount of time needed for nutrition services staff to input meal purchases, a more robust management of the free/reduced application process, and otherl abor-saving processes for the management of meal accounts. Additional information about the new features available to families will be rolled out throughout the remainder of the school year with full implementation once meal service returns to normal operations
