Coach Amy Stubblefield
The varsity girls basketball team started their season Dec. 8 hosting Blue Valley.
The girls fought hard as it was a close game throughout the evening.  The Blazers found themselves down four points late in the fourth and had to start fouling in hopes of getting the ball back.  But Blue Valley was solid from the free throw making nine FT’s late in the fourth quarter to finish the game.  We lost 47-57.
Some positives from the evening include the ability to not give up.  There were several times Blue Valley went on big scoring runs that were eventually matched by the girls.  “We came out in a press to start the second half that really rattled BV,” said Amy Stubblefield, coach. “Sofia Semon led us in scoring with 13 points.  Kiersten Markos had nine points all coming in the fourthh quarter.  Kiersten really gave us a chance at winning late in the game.  Kaelin Platt had eight points and Kaylah Newman added six.”
