Tamela Eitle, has been named dean of the Indiana University School of Liberal Arts at IUPUI.
Eitle, a 1984 Gardner Edgerton High School graduate, is the daughter of Joe and Shirley McNulty. After high school graduation, Eitle spent a year in Germany as an AFS exchange student. She returned to Kansas and attended Johnson County Community College. In 1990 she completed her undergraduate at KU with a double major in sociology and personnel administration. In 1998 she earned a PHD in sociology and a minor in education from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind.
She taught sociology and engaged in research at Miami University in Florida and at Montana State in Bozeman, Mont.
In 2017 she led Montana State successfully through the reacredition process. As vice provost she supported faculty and coordinated a compus-informed process of reinvigorating Montana State’s core curriculum..
