In lieu of an in-person Veterans Day program this year, the 50 Plus Department of the Johnson County Park and Recreation District is planning a free virtual exploration of Kansas City’s National World War I Museum and Memorial.
This program is called: A Grand Memorial – A look into the World War I Museum and Memorial. The presenter for this program is the museum’s Haley Sheriff, learning coordinator, who will highlight this Kansas City gem. The National WWI Museum and Memorial is America’s leading institution dedicated to remembering, interpreting, and understanding the Great War and its enduring impact on the global community.
This recently-announced program was not included in the September through December My JCPRD Activities catalog, and is not part of JCPRD’s program listings. This program essentially takes the place of JCPRD’s usual Veterans Breakfast, which has been cancelled for this year.
A Grand Memorial – A look into the World War I Museum and Memorial is a one-hour virtual program which will begin at 1 p.m. on Nov. 12. This program is free, but registration is required, and can be accomplished by calling (913) 826-2833.
