This past weekend the Blazer JV volleyball team competed in a Round Robin tournament at Spring Hill High School.
In the first match against Wellsville, it took the girls a minute to get into the groove of things but, in the end came away with a win in two sets (24-20 and 25-11).
Right after they went on to face Eudora in the second match of the day. In the second set against Eudora the girls came back from a nine-point deficit which, resulted in another two set win (25-17 and 25-23). Next, the Blazers faced their toughest and most talented opponent of the season so far, Spring Hill. After a very long and hard fought match we experienced the first loss of the season in three sets (11-25, 25-24, 15-8).
Continuing with the day the Blazers turned right around from the previous match against Spring Hill to face Louisburg. Unfortunately, the match also resulted in a three set loss (23-25, 25-23, 8-15).
In the final match of the day the girls were able to end on a strong note with a two set win over Osawatomie (25-9 and 25-11).
Overall, the Blazer JV volleyball team ended the day with a record of 3-2 and 8-2 on the season. Emma Pembleton made an impressive debut coming off the bench for the first time this season after recovering from an off-season knee injury. she picked back up right where she left off by leading the teams in kills. Freshman, Reese Kehl also had an outstanding day holding down the defense.
