Coach Derek Wilson
Varsity played nationally ranked Olathe West Sept. 12 while playing with only 15 players that included 4 JV players.
The boys started hot as one minute into the game they had a break away to go up 1-0 but continue to struggle putting the ball away.
OW scored a goal off our mistake a few minutes later. Their next two goals were as good as they get beforethe boys again make a bad mistake and give up another to end the half 0-4.
Second half boys played them to about a 60/40 possession and had multiple opportunities to score the ball. Dayton Williams scored a beautiful header off a corner from Jhoab Orta as the boys played with a 1-0 second half lead for 30 minutes.
Two more very bad mistakes late cost us two more goals to finish 1-6.
“With all things considered and as good as they were, I was proud of the way we played, especially second half,” Wilson said.
