Coach Michael Zegers
It was a day of ups and downs Feb. 11 at the Sunflower League Bowling Meet.
The varsity ladies started out of the gates hot.  Their first game had them in sixth place just four pins from third, and then the second game came around, and they struggled to make their averages.  Third game came, and they bowled well again, but it wasn’t enough to catch the front runners.
The varsity boys had the same happen to them.  After the first two games they were in sixth place, and then the third game arrived.  With thumb injuries, splits, and gutterballs galore (sounds like a James Bond character), they ended up tumbling down.
Overall, I think the varsity had a great time, even though it was an extremely long day, said Michael Zegers, coach.
The JV boys fared much better.  They ended up in eighth place overall with Mason Scott finishing 18th out of 78 bowlers, bowling his first 500 series.
The JV ladies did well too.  They finished in ninth place, with Violet Rude bringing home bronze out of 78 bowlers.
