The Bowling Blazers took to the lanes Feb. 5 to face Lawrence Free State and Shawnee Mission South.
Due to some illness, the boys JV were bowling shorthanded, but they still managed to put up some nice scores.  As a squad, they found themselves finishing in third place, but Freshman Jacob Kilgore put up a season high game of 202 and finished in fourth place individually.
The Varsity boys also found themselves shorthanded, but four of the junior varsity boys moved up to fill the void.  The squad finished in 3rd place, but Freshman Zach Reynolds put up a nice 201 game to finish in seventh place overall, and Junior Cooper Cox put up two nice games of 216 and 224 to bring home fifth place.
The Varsity ladies had an outstanding evening.  As a squad, they finished in second place.  Individually Junior Cassia Gruis put up a personal best of 172 that helped her finish in fourth place individually, and Veronika Wojtas finished with a nice 214 game which lead to an individual second place finish.
The junior varsity ladies continued with their hot streak of wins and individual placers.  The JV ladies took 1st place as a squad, winning by over 200 pins.  Five of the top ten bowlers were Blazers.  Freshman Brooke Privat finished in ninth, Junior Nancy Denny finished in eighth, Senior Lexie Bryan was fifth Freshman Maddy Riggs, who has placed no worse than third in any match this year finished in second, and Junior Violet Rude took home top honors.
