12/19/18 Walmart Robbery

Wednesday December 19, 2018

This morning at approximately 9:39 a.m. two subjects entered the Gardner Walmart Supercenter at 1725 E Santa Fe, exiting a short time later with over $1000 worth of electronics merchandise they had not paid for.  A store employee approached the suspects as they were exiting the store and was sprayed with pepper spray before the suspects fled the scene.

The suspects involved were described as follows:

  • Black male, approximately 5’10”, slender to medium build.  He was wearing a

dark/light color striped knit stocking cap with a ball on top, dark long-sleeve jacket or

hoodie over a longer light-colored shirt, and dark pants

  • Black female, approximately 5’6”, heavy build, short hair or hair pulled back, possible Bluetooth device in right ear.  She was wearing a white ball cap with dark logo centered in the front, gray or tan hoodie, gray or tan pants, and dark athletic style shoes

The suspect vehicle is a white Chevrolet Malibu, 4-door, with Kansas license plate 951FML.  It was last seen northbound on Interstate-35 heading into Kansas City, Missouri.

It is believed that the same two subjects were responsible for a similar theft from the Gardner Walmart on Tuesday, December 18, 2018, at approximately 10:38 a.m.  In that incident, over $2000 worth of electronics were stolen. The vehicle used in that incident was described as matching the vehicle used in today’s incident.
