The EDC’s Developer Day is an annual event designed to showcase development opportunities in the City of Gardner and at New Century AirCenter to key regional real estate influencers, said Greg Martinette, president, Southwest Johnson County Economic Development Corp.
Held on Oct. 30 this year at Shadown Glen Golf Course, this was the first year for  a morning bus tour.
“After touring available sites and projects in the area, attendees enjoyed an afternoon of golf and evening reception,” Martinette said.
Developer Day keeps the Southwest Johnson County area top-of-mind with the real estate community while cultivating new connections for EDC investors. It is an invitation-only event is designed to strengthen the relationships with economic development decision makers in an informative and fun way.
“This year’s Developer Day had an incredible turnout because of the high-level of commitment and involvement from our sponsors and investors. We were able to have an exclusive opportunity to educate and engage with the regional real estate community on what Gardner and New Century AirCenter has to offer, Martinette said. “Conversations for potential new projects have already begun due to the event.”
This year SWJEDC has hosted four job fairs, has more than 850,000 sq. ft. in pending projects, $50 million in new development and 36 business, retention and expansion visits.
