The grand opening for Big Bull Creek park was well attended Sept. 22, 2018. Construction on the first phase began in Spring 2017. The park totals 2,060 acres and will be the largest park in the Johnson County Park & Recreation District (JCPRD) park system. The first phase of development will focused on three areas: the Sunflower Road access point, the combined Park Police and Park Maintenance facility, and a group camp area.
Other phases include: Sunflower Road North of 207th Street; Nature Play area; Three-quarter-mile paved trail; Picnic shelters, restroom facility, kiosk and parking lot; Prairie restoration area; Connection to Edgerton’s nearby Martin Creek Park
199th & Four Corners Road: Combined park police and maintenance compound; 18-hole disc golf course; Parking lot with access to nearby disc golf course;
213th Street East of Spoon Creek Road: Organized group camp area; Restroom facility, picnic shelter and parking lot
