Four meets/tournaments in four days were what the Lady Blazers faced this week.
On Monday, a strong Olathe East Hawks squad rolled in for an extremely hot and muggy afternoon of play.  Victories were few for the ladies, but there were some shining moments.  Kelsey Morales-Macedo came back to defeat her opponent 6-5 and Kaleigh Lydon soundly won a 6-3 victory in singles.  The lone doubles win for the day was chalked up by Kylie Webb and Jenny Phongsavath who routed their opponent 6-1.
Tuesday it was off to Olathe North to take on the Eagles. Unfortunately, much like the varsity home quad that day, the ladies were just finishing their first doubles matches when the storm rolled in and play had to be stopped without any final scores to report.
Wednesday the Ladies were back at it in the all day Mill Valley tournament.  At number two doubles, Payton Pugh and Kaleigh Lydon played strong early round matches, defeating Baldwin and Lansing, but falling to Mill Valley.  This 2-1 finish was enough to get them into the medal round where they finished 4th.
In number 2 singles, Maycee Beasley also went two and one in the early rounds,  and also defeated Baldwin and Lansing and fell to Mill Valley.  She too made it to the medal round and barely missed third place, losing in a tiebreaker and settling for fourth.
At number one doubles, Olivia Stanley and Manuela Duque went 1-3 on the day placing sixth.
And at number one singles, Caylie Waterman also went 1-3 on the day, placing 6th.
Yesterday, finally, Shawnee Mission South came to Gardner.  The Raiders brought 24 players so it was a big night.  36 matches in just over three hours…
overall, strong performances came from Halston Hills who dominated at #1 singles, winning 6-1.  Other singles victories were earned by Jennifer Hernandez, McKenzie Massey, Kylie Webb, Brooklyn Drabant, Keyln Blakely, and Zoe Koch.  Playing tough singles but coming up slightly short were Kaleigh Lydon, Kelsey Morales-Macedo, Shayne Peterson, Abbi Everman, Fernanda Rodriguez, and Morgan Findley.
On the doubles end, victories were taken by Jennifer Hernandez and Kylie Webb, Shayne Peterson and Rylie Kessler, Ariana Massey and Brooklyn Drabant, Keyln Blakely and Abbi Everman, and Fernanda Rodriguez and Brooklyn Drabant.  Also playing well but coming up a bit short were the teams of Kacee Livingston and Kelsey Morales-Macedo, and Lisa Morales-Macedo and Morgan Findley.
