Coach David Diener
The Blazer JV Baseball Squad split with Olathe South winning game 1 6-2 and falling short in game 2 5-9.
The highlight from game one would be the pitching outing by Trey Kaberline.  Kaberline threw a complete game stifling the powerful bats of Olathe South. The Blazers also played great defense behind him turning two double plays in the fifth and sixth innings, snuffing out any potential momentum that the Falcons tried to generate.
Offensively in game one the Blazers would strike first with four hits in a row coming from Tyler Goetzmann, Riley Bolen, Kolby Gretencord and Tyler Halbrook.  Ty Wood would also reach safely and get an RBI in the inning as the Blazers scored two runs in the bottom of the first.  The Blazer offense would remain silent until the fourth inning when Riley Bolen would deliver a shot over the center fielders head to drive in Brock Stewart, giving the Blazers back the lead, and making it a 3-2 ball game. Isaiah Jackson and Kolby Gretencord would both record RBI’s in the later innings cushioning the Blazer lead as the Blazers would cruise to a 6-2 victory behind Kaberlines pitching.
In game two the Blazers had good chances to capitalize early with twice having the bases loaded, with no outs in the first four innings.  However, the big hit eluded the Blazers as they were only able to scratch two runs across.  In the sixth inning the Blazers would find themselves down 2-9, as Austin Oldham would start a rally with a line drive to left field.  He would later be driven in by Riley Bolen, as the blazers would score three runs to make the game interesting in the final innings! However, in the seventh the blazers were unable to come up with the big hit, but did threaten to score having runners in scoring position.
The JV baseball team is now 9-8 on the season with their last at the DAC complex.
