The Kids Fishing Derby is an annual city hosted event held at Gardner Lake every in September. The event is co-sponsored by the Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks and Cops N’ Bobbers.  Worms and fishing poles are provided, however kids are encouraged to bring their own pole.  Trophies given for biggest fish, most fish and more, along with a lunch and goodie bags for all the kids.
