Notice of Public Meeting for the Proposed Plan 22 February 2017

The United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE)-Kansas City District has established a public comment period to offer the public and other stakeholders the opportunity to review and comment on the Proposed Plan for Site 17 and Site 19 at the former Olathe Naval Air Station site located in Gardner, Kansas. The public comment period extends from 11 February 2017 through 14 March 2017.
The Proposed Plan summarized the No Action recommendation for Site 17 and Site 19 at the former Olathe Naval Air Station based on the Administrative Record. Although this is the preferred alternative at the present time, the USACE is requesting public comments on the proposal as presented in the Proposed Plan.
The Proposed Plan will be made available for public review from 11 February 2017 through 14 March 2017. As part of the public comment period, USACE will hold a Public Availability Session on 22 February 2017 at 6:00 pm, immediately followed by a Formal Public Meeting to discuss the Proposed Plan starting at 6:30 pm. The purpose of the Public Meeting is to give interested parties the opportunity to share their comments in regards to the Proposed Plan. Public participation is required to ensure that any concern of the community is considered. All interested individuals are encouraged to attend the Public Meeting.
