Reese Brittain, 5th Grade student at Wolf Creek Elementary School, created the winning poster for the State of Kansas, 5-6th grade division.  Students from around the state submitted posters for the annual Fire Safety Poster Contest sponsored by the Office of the State Fire Marshal.  The theme for this year’s contest was “Show What You Know About Fire Safety.”  All the winning posters and those who received honorable mention will be featured in the 2017 Fire Safety Calendar.  Brittain’s poster will also be on display in the rotunda of the State Capitol building the week of Feb. 13-17th.  The winners, their families, and school administrators will meet Gov. Sam Brownback and State Fire Marshal Doug Jorgensen on Feb. 17 in the Governor’s office.  Pictured is Brittain with Chief Jerame Frank, holding her winning poster.
