Former GEHS football players Andrew Plank and Sean Callahan recently played key roles in helping Garden City to win the National Junior College football championship.
Plank, a linebacker, and Callahan, an offensive lineman, were part of a team that posted a perfect 11-0 record, won the Jayhawk Conference title and National Championship.
“Sean Callahan came to Garden City, and worked real hard to become our starting right guard,” said Coach Jeff Sims. His effort and toughness was a tremendous addition to our program. Likewise, Andrew helped us grow and develop into a national title program.”
Garden City defeated Arizona Western community college 25-22 in the championship game.
