Skylar Washington fired in 22 points leading the Lady Blazers to a 54-35 season opening win at Blue Valley West last week.
GEHS, 1-0, went up 13-7 after one quarter and held a 28-15 halftime lead. The Blazers tacked on 26 second half points to secure the verdict.

Besides Washington, Taylor Carpenter had 11 points, Cassidy Androff, nine, Kynli Nelson and Kelsey Leffer had four points and Abbey Bilhimer had two points.
Carpenter sank two treys and Washington had one.
“Our defense took control in the second quarter and we got a 13 point halftime lead,” said Coach Justin Mayeri. “I was proud of the effort.”
The Lady Blazers continue action this week at the Huhtamuki Hardwood Classic in Desoto.
