Jumping to a 13-3 first quarter lead, the Pioneer Ridge Middle School lady Jag eighth grade varsity basketball team posted a 41-22 at Ottawa last week.
Five different Jags scored in the 13 point first quarter. Sophia Semon scored eight of the Jags 10 second quarter points to give Pioneer a commanding 23-11 halftime lead.
Kendra Wait took control with eight second half points as the Jags scored their 10th straight win.
“I thought the team did a nice job of being active on defense and finding the open person on offense,” said Coach Jeff Davidson.
Now 10-0, Pioneer takes a thanksgiving break before matching up with Paola.
Wait led the scoring with 15 points and seven rebounds while Semon added 10 points and collected three steals.
LaJericka Jackson had six points, Saige Lickteig four points, Lauren Havlik and Abby Hill, two points each.
