A 4-1 first round state loss to Bishop Miege brought the season to a close for Coach Eric Swartz and his Spring Hill Bronco soccer team last week.
“We had a very successful season and unfortunately exited from the state tournament earlier than expected,” said Swartz. “I was real proud of this team and the senior leadership.”
The loss failed to overshadow an impressive season for the Broncos. Their 14-3-2 overall record included the school’s first outright Frontier league title. The team also won regionals and had an excellent goal differential of plus 77.
Closing their soccer careers at Spring Hill were seniors Lucas Moore, Daniel Hidalgo, Lorenzo Nugeuira, Killian Beck, Caleb Othick, Nicholas Kaechele, Dylan Arnold, Keenan Powell, Drew Burger, Nickolas McCreight, Chris Simmons, Zach Barnum, and Mareck Muro.
The future looks bright for the Broncos with key returners Bryce Towles, Trey Shoemaker, Ethan Larson, Noah Leonard, and Matt Hooker.
