Battling til the end, the Wheatridge Lady Mustang seventh grade varsity volleyball team brought back a second place finish from the Frontier league meet in Baldwin last week.
The Mustangs posted a 1-1 pool record and then defeated Spring Hill in two sets to advance to the championship.
In the title match, Wheatridge Middle School narrowly lost to Eudora 23-25, 22-25.
Leading servers for the day were Ava Bojanski with 46 and Ellie Supple, 39.
Top assists in setting came from Supple (38) and Abi Garden (31).
Providing solid team play were Jaden Rohr (21 serves and two kills); Chase Kellogg (nine serves and three kills); Riley Proctor (six serves and three kills) and Abby Herriott (eight serves and one kill).
