Scoring 20 fourth quarter points, the Spring Hill Bronco varsity football team turned back Ottawa 33-12 last Friday night.
With the win, Spring Hill improved to 3-0 in the Frontier league and remained in the hunt of the Frontier Conference race.
“We played a very physical game against Ottawa, said Jason Feeback, coach. “We held a very good Ottawa team to just 77 yards rushing and forced four turnovers. We ran our offense very well.”
Ottawa struck first on a 34 yard scoring strike only to see Spring Hill answer with a six yard Tyshawn Straw touchdown run.
Spring Hill held a 13-6 lead after three quarters thanks to a six yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jacob Letellier to Nathan Ewing.
Ottawa opened the fourth quarter with a 19 yard touchdown pass before Straw scored on touchdown runs of 22 and 31 yards.
In between, Brennan Feeback hauled back an interception for a touchdown.
Spring Hill accumulated 332 yards of offense led by Straws 174 yards on 30 totes.
Through the air, Letellier connected on 9 of 15 for another 139 yards and a touchdown. His favorite targets were Feeback who caught two passes for 54 yards. Ewing hauled in three for 44 yards and Mason Bell, three catches for 41 yards.
Now 3-0 in the league, the Broncos have a big showdown with Louisburg (also 3-0) in league this week.
