zeus-1-award-for-fastest-dogZeus and his K9 handler, Officer James Anderson, Gardner Police Department, recently participated in the 4th Annual Heartland Police Canine Competition in Kansas City, Mo. and received a third place award for speed. The participating canines jumped over high barricades and through windows to take down violent attackers. There were 22 different agencies from the metro area that participated. Zeus began working in March of this year after spending about a month training with Officer Anderson. The duo also worked with the Lenexa Police Department K9 Unit to obtain national certification in both narcotics detection and patrol operations.
