The Spring Hill school district welcomes Trevor Goertzen as the new middle school assistant principal. Goertzen and his wife, Stephanie, live in Olathe with their three children Luke, five, Will, three, and Jane , one. He is originally from rural Nebraska and is an avid outdoorsman who loves spending time with family and friends experiencing life to its fullest.
Goertzen received a bachelors degree in elementary and middle-level education from Harding University in Arkansas. After graduation he received a job in the Blue Valley School District and taught 7th and 8th grade Language Arts and Social Studies for nine years. In 2009, he earned his Masters in Educational Administration and became a nationally board certified teacher in 2014. During his time in the Blue Valley School District he was active in many academic and athletic endeavors including:
Curriculum and professional development teams
School leadership team
Social Studies Department Chair
Education Support Services Team
Coach: football, basketball, track and field, and wrestling
His goals for the upcoming school year are for incoming 6th graders to find their place in the new school environment and to be challenged to be their very best academically and socially.
