The Gardner Edgerton track club, in conjunction with the Johnson County Fair , Gardner and USD 231 will present its 8th annual pole vault exhibition , August 6.
The exhibition begins at noon in the north parking lot of Gardner Elementary. A free youth bungee jump will start the festivities from noon to 12:30. Vaulting with a crossbar at 5 feet begins at 1 pm.
Boys and girls will vault together based on personal records. Group one will include vaulters with personal records of 9’6″. Group two will involve vaulters with a personal record or 9’6″ to 13′ 6″.  The third group will will include male vaulters with a personal record minimum of 14′.
Cost is $40 per vaulter and proceeds benefit the Gardner Edgerton track club, and each vaulter receives a T shirt with a paid registration.
Special entrants include Tyler Knight, a Wichita State vaulter who has cleared 16′ multiple times, Chris Nielson, a Park Hilll graduate who holds the national high school record of 18′ 3 .75 inches and Briattant Kallenburger from Central Missouri State who was the 2015 Divsion 2 national champion.
