The Sharon 4-H club had a fun and busy year getting ready for the fair.
Members in livestock have put a lot of hours and effort into get ready for show.
4-Hers in rocketry are preparing their rockets for flight and putting on the finishing touches to exhibit in the fair. In geology the 4-Hers hunted for rocks, minerals and fossils. Members in our 4-H club are enrolled in many other projects including woodworking, photography, foods, crafts, crops, small engines, and entomology.
In addition to getting ready for the fair, our members have participated in many other activities. We volunteered at a local food pantry in Spring Hill stocking the shelves with donations. Our sewing members donated blankets they sewed to a homeless shelter. We had members participate in club days, which gave them an opportunity to showcase some talents in activities outside the typical 4-H project. Club member, Mallory Meek, participated in the Citizen Washington Focus trip with fellow 4Hers throughout the state of Kansas. We participate in 4-H week, 4-H Sunday as well as the Spring Hill Fall Festival parade all in an effort to promote 4-H.
As we work to promote 4-H, our club has grown in numbers and we have gained some great families. If you are interested in joining 4-H, Sharon 4-H holds meetings the second Monday of the month at the Spring Hill Civic Center at 7 pm.
