It’s not too early to begin thinking about the Johnson County Fair parade, sponsored by the Gardner Edgerton Chamber of Commerce.
This year’s parade will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug 6, and thousands of people typically line the streets for one of the longest parades in the county – usually lasting more than an hour.
The more than one mile route winds thru downtown Gardner, and the grandstand is typically in front of city hall. It features floats, pets, bicycles, bands, businesses and more.
Anyone wanting to enter the parade may register on the Gardner Edgerton Chamber website.
The theme of this year’s fair is “Blue Jeans and Country Dreams.” The fair is the first week of August.
