Rose Marie Keegan Fargo, 86, passed away June 29 at Olathe Medical Center.
Rose was born April 21, 1930 in Bentley, Iowa to Edna May (Simons) and Harry Killion. They moved to Gardner when she was 12. Rose married Billy Gene Keegan on June 29, 1947. They worked together on the family farm. He passed away April 3, 1986. Rose later married Harry Fargo on September 1, 1989, who passed away on December 23, 1990. She was very faithful to her Lord, and was active at the First Presbyterian Church of Gardner where she taught Sunday School, worked in the nursery and with the youth group. She was an avid card player and enjoyed puzzles. Rose was a great cook for her family and the hay crew. She was a member of the Docey Dandies Square Dance Club. She will be dearly missed by family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Bill Keegan and Harry Fargo, and siblings Harry Killion, Mary Walters, Don Killion, and Betty Locke. Rose is survived by her children Susie Howard and husband John of Wann, Okla, Peggy Maynard of Mission Viejo, Calif, Carol Madden and husband Phil of Overland Park, Kan, Kathy Kessler and husband Jim of Emporia, Kan and Connie Barton and husband Steve of Olathe, Kan; 17 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, July 5 at Bruce Funeral Home, Gardner, KS, 913-856-7111. Burial will follow at Prairie Center Cemetery, Eudora, Kan. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm before the service at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions may be given to the First Presbyterian Church of Gardner to be used for their Youth Groups.
