Battling till the end, the Gardner Ice 18 and under softball team recently brought back a third place finish from the “Summer Blast” tournament in Olathe. The team lost to a number one seed 8-7 in the semifinal game.

“Our pitching and defense were really strong for the entire tournament,” said Coach Steve Adamson. “I’m real proud of how the team kept playing hard the entire weekend, despite the very high temperatures.”
In Blue Valley league play, Gardner Ice is currently in fourth place with two games remaining.
“We have competed very well in league with most games within a few years,” added Adamson.

The team will play in one final tournament in July.
Assisting Adamson is Dean Gilner and their roster includes Jaclyn Adamson, Sara Coble, Hannah Collette, Alik Gilman, Chelsie Gilner, Sarah Gilner, Becca Gragg, Tori Lafferty, Kendra Rogers, Bethany Schultz, Olivia Schultz.
Jessica Gilner is the team manager.
