The monthly meeting of Comet Tech 4-H club was held on May 17th. It was attended by 11 members and 4 guest.
The meeting opened with an interactive science project, making slime. With a mixture of cornstarch and water, it behaves as neither liquid or solid, and is called a collaid. If you put pressure on a collaid, it acts as like a solid. If you stir it quickly, it resists. The members learned that other collaids include milk, fog, and ketchup.
The meeting was called to order by President Preston Simpson; the Minutes were read by Jesse Gunkel and the Treasures Report was given by Zach Bodkin.
Kennedy Bodkin demonstrated how to make trail mix.
Lance Eisley gave a talk about African frogs.
Grant Eisley demonstrated how to make lemonade.
The meeting was adjourned and the seasonal Events committee met to discuss upcoming activities. Comet Tech 4-H Club meets every third Tuesday of the month at 6:30pm at the Johnson County Extension Office, 11811 S Sunset Dr Suite 1500 Olathe, KS 66061 and welcomes anyone who would like to visit.
