Gardner’s annual Festival of the Trails will be June 10-11 in downtown Gardner.
Music guests will include Diamond Rio; Travis Marvin; Andy Griggs, Shawn McNown, River Town and the Tracey Allison Duo.
“This year’s festival will be better than ever as the committee selected a second major act (Friday night’s Andy Griggs) to go along with the traditional Saturday night headliner,” said Jason Camis, chamber president. “And Diamond Rio is a huge draw, with dozens of Top 40 hits, five #1 singles and a brand-new album released in May 2016). We expect the crowd to be bigger than ever.”
Other activities will include a kids’ zone, face painting, chat-fest for seniors, car show, craft show, food vendors, a three on three hoops tourney and wagon rides.
June 11, wagon rides will be provided from the festival events to the Gardner Historical Museum beginning about noon. Events at the museum will include period re-enactors, Indian artifacts and demonstrations of pioneer and children’s crafts. There will be a pioneer campground with an Indian Teepee and Chief Standing Cloud. Music will be by “Odds and Ends.” Inside the museum will a trails exhibit.
