The last of three new production cranes was installed at the BNSF Railway’s Logistics Park Kansas City intermodal park on the east side of Edgerton on Friday morning. Two other gigantic cranes were put in operating position earlier last week. The new cranes bring to eight the number that will be used at LPKC as container shipments continue to increase at the 2-1/2 year-old facility. Four special self-powered hydraulic moving platforms were brought in from New York to lift and carry the cranes into place on the train ramp. The cranes had been erected about a block away since March 1.
